Residential Education maintains a personal presence in students’ lives through its staff of resident assistants (RAs), lead resident assistants (LRAs), and village assistants (VAs), who are full-time students helping to build community, to get students involved in college programs, to resolve conflicts, and to uphold college rules. Professional staff also live in college housing and are there to support and oversee the efforts of student residential staff toward fostering community.

The Nord Center is a private, non-profit agency providing comprehensive behavioral and mental health services in the greater Lorain County area. Services include outpatient counseling; sexual assault/rape crisis services; drug and alcohol addiction; dual diagnosis (substance abuse and mental illness); psychiatry and medication management; employment and vocational services; supportive housing as well as homelessness prevention.

Student Help and Resource Exchange (SHARE)

The Office of the Dean of Students supports SHARE, a program for the purpose of consulting on reports of concerning behavior. Students may fill out an online form at any time and from anywhere; the SHARE team will determine appropriate response.

Transportation

CarShare byEnterprise

Oberlin College has partnered with Enterprise Rent-A-Car to offer CarShare by Enterprise, a car sharing service for students and other members of the community.

RideLine

Oberlin’s student shuttle system, RideLine, providing stop-to-stop transportation along a designated campus route but may pick up/drop off within a restricted area that may include doctor’s and dentist’s offices within Oberlin. Call 440-775-RIDE (7433) for RideLine or monitor its route at http://www.oberlincollege.ridesystems.net/. (There is also a free app available for Android and iPhones.)
